THE CONCEPT OF PROSUMER

CITCEA UPC has begun to participate in EMPOWER, a European project whose aim is to promote the concept of prosumer (producer and consumer at the same time) and analyse which technologies and services are needed to create local electricity markets that allow energy exchange. To demonstrate the feasibility of an energy scenario in which citizens participate in energy management, three pilot studies will be implemented in Norway, Germany and Malta.

The project is part of the H2020 programme. It is funded by the European Commission, and seven organizations collaborate in addition to CITCEA UPC: eSmart Systems (eSmart), Schneider Electric, SmartIO-Smart Innovation Østfold, Fredrikstad Energi Nett - FEN, la Universitat de St. Gallen - UNISG, Malta Intelligent Energy Management Agency - MIEMA and NewEn Projects GmbH.

COMPLETION OF THE METAL-INNOVA PROJECT

On 15 April, the final meeting of the Metal-innova project was held. At this event, results were presented for these three years of collaboration to promote innovation projects for companies in the metal sector. During the session, innovation experiences were presented by the companies INDO and Industrias Puigjaner, as well as projects carried out by the Fundación CIM and Tecnalia. The company JJUAN and the partners in the ViaMéca project and IFMA presented projects that have arisen as a result of work carried out as part of Metal-innova. Likewise, participants reflected on the possible continuity and funding of the project.

Metal-innova formed part of the European Interregional Cooperation Project (INTERREG IV B SUDOE). The partners included the CIT UPC, the UPM (coordinator), FVEM, ViaMéca, AIDA and IFMA.
