Si b\u00e9 els turismes s\u00f3n la principal font de contaminaci\u00f3, els vehicles lleugers i pesants representen gaireb\u00e9 el 40% de les emissions totals de CO\u2082 del total de la mobilitat per carretera a Europa. Aix\u00ed, l\\&#8217;electrificaci\u00f3 d\\&#8217;aquests vehicles, especialment dels vehicles pesants, resulta un element clau per a limitar la contaminaci\u00f3 ambiental i contribuir a mitigar els efectes del canvi clim\u00e0tic.\r<br>El 2020, els fabricants de camions de la Uni\u00f3 Europea (UE) i membres de l\\&#8217;Associaci\u00f3 Europea de Fabricants d\\&#8217;Autom\u00f2bils (ACEA) van manifestar el seu comprom\u00eds per descarbonizar el sector abans de 2050. Per aconseguir-ho, els fabricants de camions inverteixen en noves solucions, com els combustibles alternatius, bateries i hidrogen. Els vehicles el\u00e8ctrics propulsats per bateria constitueixen la primera tecnologia d\\&#8217;emissions zero que arriba al mercat dels camions, seguida pels camions propulsats per hidrogen. No obstant aix\u00f2, avui dia encara no existeixen components integrats, compactes i d\\&#8217;alta efici\u00e8ncia del sistema de propulsi\u00f3 per als diferents models i tipus de vehicles existents. En aquest context, neix el projecte de recerca europeu RHODaS.\r<br>El Centre Motion Control and Industrial Applications (MCIA), el Terrassa Industrial Electronics Group (TIEG) i el grup Enginyeria del Medi Ambient (ENMA) de la Universitat Polit\u00e8cnica de Catalunya &#8211; BarcelonaTech (UPC) participen a RHODaS (Reinventing High-performance pOwer converters for heavy-Duty electric trAnSport), un projecte en el marc del qual es milloraran els sistemes de propulsi\u00f3 amb motor integrat per a arquitectures de tracci\u00f3 m\u00faltiple amb materials m\u00e9s eficients, nous materials semiconductors, millor gesti\u00f3 t\u00e8rmica i l\\&#8217;estandarditzaci\u00f3 de la fabricaci\u00f3 de convertidors de pot\u00e8ncia. Tot aix\u00f2 augmentar\u00e0 l\\&#8217;efici\u00e8ncia de la pr\u00f2pia arquitectura, la densitat de pot\u00e8ncia, la fiabilitat, el cost i la sostenibilitat dels vehicles el\u00e8ctrics de llarg recorregut.<br>Project Header<br>no-repeat;left top;;<br>auto<br>20px<br><br>Per a aix\u00f2 es desenvolupar\u00e0 un prototip de convertidor de pot\u00e8ncia modular amb dispositius GaN (nitrur de gal\u00b7li) i SiC (carbur de silici). D\\&#8217;una banda, s\\&#8217;inclouran nous materials semiconductors, que contribuiran a reduir el seu pes i la seva grand\u00e0ria. D\\&#8217;altra banda, el prototip incorporar\u00e0 sensors que recolliran les dades amb els quals es dissenyar\u00e0 un bess\u00f3 digital que, a trav\u00e9s d\\&#8217;intel\u00b7lig\u00e8ncia artificial aplicada al control i al diagn\u00f2stic, permetr\u00e0 el manteniment predictiu del sistema i els seus components. Aix\u00f2 contribuir\u00e0 a augmentar l\\&#8217;efici\u00e8ncia i el rendiment del conjunt. D\\&#8217;aquesta manera, s\\&#8217;unificaran els requisits de disseny, fabricaci\u00f3, rendiment i seguretat per crear una cadena de valor rendible a la Uni\u00f3 Europea (UE) basada en economies d\\&#8217;escala, com a avantatge competitiu enfront dels fabricants asi\u00e0tics i estatunidencs.\r<br>Conceptes com l\\&#8217;ecodisseny i la circularitat s\\&#8217;aplicaran en les estrat\u00e8gies de fabricaci\u00f3 i determinaci\u00f3 de la vida \u00fatil (reparaci\u00f3, reutilitzaci\u00f3, recondicionament i reciclatge) dels components, gr\u00e0cies a l\\&#8217;aplicaci\u00f3 d\\&#8217;eines digitals com el disseny 3D i la simulaci\u00f3 d\\&#8217;electr\u00f2nica de pot\u00e8ncia modular.\r<br>El Centre MCIA lidera les tasques d\\&#8217;integraci\u00f3 del sistema de tracci\u00f3 el\u00e8ctrica, aix\u00ed com de l\\&#8217;electr\u00f2nica de control. El TIEG s\\&#8217;ocupa del disseny dels components el\u00e8ctrics i electr\u00f2nics del projecte, i en particular dels convertidors T-type h\u00edbrids GaN-SiC. Finalment, l\u2019ENMA s\\&#8217;encarrega de la revisi\u00f3 dels estudis d\\&#8217;impacte ambiental i del disseny circular dels convertidors.<br>Project Header<br>no-repeat;left top;;<br>auto<br>20px<br><br><h4>Resultats i impacte esperat<\/h4>\r<br>S\\&#8217;espera que el nou prototip de convertidor aconsegueixi, entre altres aspectes:\r<br>\r<br>Una reducci\u00f3 de costos m\u00ednima del 20% dels sistemes de propulsi\u00f3.\r<br>Aven\u00e7os significatius en efici\u00e8ncia (reduint les p\u00e8rdues en un 25%) i rendiment t\u00e8rmic (gr\u00e0cies a l\\&#8217;augment de la temperatura de funcionament), la qual cosa permetr\u00e0 una major extensi\u00f3 del rang de conducci\u00f3 dels camions (un 10% m\u00e9s), una c\u00e0rrega m\u00e9s r\u00e0pida i una gesti\u00f3 t\u00e8rmica m\u00e9s f\u00e0cil de tot el tren motriu.\r<br>El desenvolupament d\\&#8217;un sistema d\\&#8217;electr\u00f2nica de pot\u00e8ncia, que permetr\u00e0 reduir fins a un 40% la grand\u00e0ria i el pes necessaris per a l\\&#8217;accionament el\u00e8ctric.\r<br>Un increment del 5% del nivell d\\&#8217;efici\u00e8ncia en l\\&#8217;accionament del motor integrat com a resultat de menors p\u00e8rdues energ\u00e8tiques (fins a un 40%) en la conversi\u00f3 de pot\u00e8ncia i una instal\u00b7laci\u00f3 m\u00e9s f\u00e0cil en comparaci\u00f3 amb les tecnologies actuals.\r<br>Monitoratge avan\u00e7at del sistema en temps real amb un bess\u00f3 digital per a optimitzar el disseny i operacions, reduir les fallades i ampliar el cicle de vida dels materials.\r<br>Accelerar l\\&#8217;adopci\u00f3 de solucions (tecnologies i serveis) centrades en l\\&#8217;usuari, assequibles i amb zero emissions per a la mobilitat per carretera a Europa.\r<br>Millorar la qualitat de l\\&#8217;aire, fomentar l\\&#8217;economia circular i la reducci\u00f3 de l\\&#8217;impacte ambiental.\r<br><br>Project Header<br>no-repeat;left top;;<br>auto<br>20px<br><br><h4>Consorci, pressupost i finan\u00e7ament<\/h4>\r<br>RHODaS reuneix 9 socis de 6 pa\u00efsos de la UE, entre els quals es troben a m\u00e9s de la UPC (qui a trav\u00e9s del Centre MCIA, coordina el consorci), la Universitat T\u00e8cnica de Viena &#8211; TUW (\u00c0ustria), l\\&#8217;Institut de Tecnologia d\\&#8217;\u00c0ustria &#8211; AIT (\u00c0ustria), la Universitat de Aarhus (Dinamarca), Kneia (Espanya), Valeo (Fran\u00e7a i Alemanya), Bosmal (Pol\u00f2nia) i NVISION (Espanya).\r<br>El projecte RHODaS s\\&#8217;emmarca en el programa de quatre anys Horizon Europe 2021-2027 i \u00e9s finan\u00e7at per la Uni\u00f3 Europea mitjan\u00e7ant el programa \u2018Climate, Energy and Mobility\u2019.
