Aquest projecte, anomenat FNB-Open Arms, \u00e9s el primer cas de transfer\u00e8ncia tecnol\u00f2gica del Fractus-UPC Deep Tech Hub, una iniciativa de col\u00b7laboraci\u00f3 entre l\u2019empresa Fractus i la UPC, que t\u00e9 com a objectiu promoure la innovaci\u00f3 en tecnologies deep tech.<\/h4><br>Project Header<br>no-repeat;left top;;<br>auto<br>20px<br><br><br>El projecte pret\u00e9n optimitzar el consum de combustible de l\\&#8217;Open Arms, un antic remolcador de 37 metres que pot consumir fins a 3.000 litres de gasoil diaris. En una primera fase, el sistema monitorar\u00e0 diferents par\u00e0metres com la velocitat, l\u2019estat de la mar, i el trimat de l\u2019embarcaci\u00f3 (els ajustaments que es fan en diversos elements del vaixell per guanyar propulsi\u00f3 i aprofitar-ne al m\u00e0xim la for\u00e7a motora) per construir un model de machine learning. Aquest model aprendr\u00e0 a identificar les condicions de navegaci\u00f3 que permetin rec\u00f3rrer les dist\u00e0ncies m\u00e9s llargues amb el menor consum de combustible.<br><br>En fases posteriors, s\u2019incorporaran altres factors com l\u2019estat del casc, les necessitats el\u00e8ctriques o les condicions meteorol\u00f2giques, amb l\u2019objectiu de determinar les condicions de propulsi\u00f3 m\u00e9s eficients en temps real. Aix\u00ed, es reduir\u00e0 l\\&#8217;impacte ambiental i es podran estalviar recursos que Open Arms podr\u00e0 destinar a la seva missi\u00f3 de rescatar persones al mar.<br><br>Els sensors que captaran les dades ja estan presents al vaixell, com s\u00f3n els sistemes AIS, GPS o la planta de pot\u00e8ncia, als quals se sumaran cabal\u00edmetres finan\u00e7ats per Fractus, que s\u2019instal\u00b7laran en breu. El sistema, a m\u00e9s de reduir el consum de combustible, contribuir\u00e0 a la identificaci\u00f3 preco\u00e7 de problemes t\u00e8cnics, la qual cosa perllongar\u00e0 la vida \u00fatil del motor del vaixell.<br><br>Aquesta tecnologia no nom\u00e9s redueix costos i emissions contaminants, sin\u00f3 que tamb\u00e9 permet que Open Arms dediqui m\u00e9s recursos a la seva tasca humanit\u00e0ria. Aix\u00ed mateix, la tecnologia facilitar\u00e0 el compliment de les regulacions ambientals i millorar\u00e0 la planificaci\u00f3 de les rutes mar\u00edtimes.<br><br>Actualment, no existeix al mercat cap sistema similar que utilitzi tecnologies de machine learning per monitorar en temps real els factors que influeixen en la navegaci\u00f3 \u00f2ptima d\\&#8217;una embarcaci\u00f3.<br><br>El projecte es va iniciar el mes de gener de 2024 i est\u00e0 previst que en les pr\u00f2ximes setmanes el sistema es desplegui a l\\&#8217;embarcaci\u00f3 per definir les opcions i les propostes de navegaci\u00f3. A les fases successives es preveu fer les proves de validaci\u00f3 durant algunes missions, fer millores i incorporar nous par\u00e0metres al sistema (tots els que es considerin necessaris), amb l\\&#8217;esperan\u00e7a de replicar el model en altres embarcacions de l\\&#8217;ONG Open Arms en el futur.<br><br>Els investigadors de la FNB participants en el projecte pertanyen al grup de recerca Mec\u00e0nica de Mitjans Continus i Computacional &#8211; (MC)2 i al Grup de recerca de transport mar\u00edtim i log\u00edstica portu\u00e0ria (TRANSMAR), al grup d\u2019An\u00e0lisi i Tecnologia d\\&#8217;Estructures i Materials (ATEM) i del grup de Sistemes Intel\u00b7ligents de Control (SIC).<br><br>\u00a0El projecte ha estat distingit amb el Premi UPC al Comprom\u00eds Social 2023 pel seu impacte en la societat.
