Per aix\u00f2, calen sistemes d\u2019emmagatzematge eficients que permetin tenir energia disponible quan creix la demanda. Aquestes tecnologies, per\u00f2, encara no tenen un rendiment \u00f2ptim, sobretot per l\u2019escalfament que experimenten, cosa que influeix en la producci\u00f3 d\u2019energia i la durabilitat dels sistemes fotovoltaics. D\u2019altra banda, les tecnologies d\u2019emmagatzematge actuals, com les bateries, depenen de materials no sostenibles.<br><br>En aquest context, un equip de recerca internacional liderat pel Molecular Materials Group (MOMA) de la Universitat Polit\u00e8cnica de Catalunya \u2013 BarcelonaTech (UPC), ha creat una tecnologia que dona resposta a aquests dos reptes. Es tracta del primer dispositiu h\u00edbrid que combina una c\u00e8l\u00b7lula solar de silici amb un sistema innovador d\\&#8217;emmagatzematge t\u00e8rmic molecular (<a target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/mostsolarproject.eu\/\" target=\"_blank\">MOST<\/a>, per les sigles en angl\u00e8s de MOlecular Solar Thermal Energy Storage Systems). Els resultats de la recerca s\u2019han publicat recentment a la revista cient\u00edfica Joule.<br><br>El sistema MOST est\u00e0 format per mol\u00e8cules org\u00e0niques que, quan s\u00f3n irradiades amb fotons d\\&#8217;alta energia, com la llum ultraviolada, experimenten una transformaci\u00f3 qu\u00edmica i emmagatzemen aquesta energia per al seu \u00fas posterior. Com a particularitat del sistema, aquestes mol\u00e8cules tamb\u00e9 proporcionen refrigeraci\u00f3 a la c\u00e8l\u00b7lula fotovoltaica en actuar com a filtre \u00f2ptic i bloquejar els fotons que normalment causarien escalfament i reduirien l\u2019efici\u00e8ncia del sistema. D\u2019aquesta manera, el dispositiu permet tant generar electricitat com energia qu\u00edmica emmagatzemada.<br><br>A difer\u00e8ncia d\u2019altres tecnologies que depenen de materials escassos, el sistema MOST utilitza elements comuns com el carboni, l\u2019hidrogen, l\u2019oxigen, el nitrogen i el fluor, de manera que ofereix una alternativa d\u2019emmagatzematge d\u2019energia m\u00e9s sostenible.<br><br>\u00a0<br><br><h4>Millores en l\u2019efici\u00e8ncia energ\u00e8tica<\/h4><br><br>Amb el nou dispositiu s\u2019aconsegueix millorar l\\&#8217;efici\u00e8ncia energ\u00e8tica de forma significativa. En les proves experimentals s\u2019ha aconseguit una efici\u00e8ncia r\u00e8cord d\u2019emmagatzematge d\u2019energia solar t\u00e8rmica molecular del 2,3%. La integraci\u00f3 d\u2019aquest sistema h\u00edbrid permet tamb\u00e9 una reducci\u00f3 de la temperatura de la cel\u00b7la fotovoltaica de fins a 8 \u00b0C, de forma que es redueixen les p\u00e8rdues energ\u00e8tiques per calor, amb un augment de l\\&#8217;efici\u00e8ncia del 12,6% de la fotovoltaica. El dispositiu combinat funciona amb una efici\u00e8ncia d\u2019utilitzaci\u00f3 solar de fins al 14,9%, una xifra que representa una millora respecte als dos sistemes solars h\u00edbrids quan funcionen de manera independent.\u00a0<br><br>La combinaci\u00f3 d\\&#8217;energia fotovoltaica amb emmagatzematge t\u00e8rmic molecular no nom\u00e9s permetr\u00e0 millorar l\\&#8217;efici\u00e8ncia energ\u00e8tica, sin\u00f3 que tamb\u00e9 contribuir\u00e0 a reduir la depend\u00e8ncia dels combustibles f\u00f2ssils i a minimitzar l\\&#8217;impacte ambiental associat a altres formes d\\&#8217;emmagatzematge d\\&#8217;energia, com les bateries basades en materials escassos i contaminants.<br><br>Amb aquest dispositiu h\u00edbrid, es preveu poder donar resposta a la demanda creixent d\u2019energia neta i d\u2019emmagatzematge eficient, un pas m\u00e9s cap a la transici\u00f3 energ\u00e8tica.<br><br>El dispositiu s\u2019ha desenvolupat en el marc dels projectes <a target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/cordis.europa.eu\/project\/id\/101002131\/es?isPreviewer=1\" target=\"_blank\">ERC PHOTHERM<\/a> i <a target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/cordis.europa.eu\/project\/id\/951801\" target=\"_blank\">EU FET-PROACT MOST<\/a>, finan\u00e7ats per la Uni\u00f3 Europea amb 2 i 4,3 milions d\u2019euros, respectivament.
