Aquestes prote\u00efnes alternatives pretenen oferir un ingredient sostenible que respongui al creixent consum global de prote\u00efnes, aplicables al desenvolupament d\u2019aliments i pinsos.<\/h4><br>Project Header<br>no-repeat;left top;;<br>auto<br>20px<br><br><br>PROALGAE aborda tant la bioremediaci\u00f3 de subproductes\/efluents agroalimentaris (descontaminaci\u00f3 mitjan\u00e7ant bioprocessos) com la producci\u00f3 de biomassa valuosa per a l\u2019elaboraci\u00f3 d\u2019aliments i pinsos a trav\u00e9s de processos basats en algues. L\u2019objectiu final \u00e9s recuperar els nutrients dels subproductes agroalimentaris per proporcionar noves fonts de prote\u00efnes, tancant el cicle del sector agroalimentari des d\u2019un enfocament d\u2019economia circular.<br><br>L\u2019abast del projecte inclou l\u2019avaluaci\u00f3 de la viabilitat del cultiu de microalgues en subproductes agroalimentaris espec\u00edfics, la caracteritzaci\u00f3 de la biomassa produ\u00efda i l\u2019avaluaci\u00f3 de la seva aplicaci\u00f3 com a aliment i pinso. Tamb\u00e9 es valorar\u00e0 la sostenibilitat ambiental i es far\u00e0 una estimaci\u00f3 de la producci\u00f3 potencial en escenaris futurs.<br><br>El projecte s\u2019estructura en dos subprojectes:<br><br><br><br>El primer, liderat pel grup GEMMA de la UPC, es centra en la recuperaci\u00f3 de nutrients d\u2019efluents agroalimentaris d\u2019aigua dol\u00e7a (en concret, de la ind\u00fastria cervesera) mitjan\u00e7ant cultius de microalgues, i busca optimitzar el contingut proteic i millorar les caracter\u00edstiques organol\u00e8ptiques de les microalgues. Tamb\u00e9 inclou el desenvolupament de galetes riques en prote\u00efnes, amb biomassa de microalgues com a ingredient, i s\u2019avaluar\u00e0 la seva qualitat sensorial i nutricional. Finalment, es realitzar\u00e0 una an\u00e0lisi integral de sostenibilitat econ\u00f2mica, ambiental i social del proc\u00e9s per garantir-ne la viabilitat.<br><br>El segon, liderat pel Grup d\u2019Enginyeria Ambiental (GIA) de la Universitat de Cant\u00e0bria, es centra en el cultiu de microalgues en efluents agroalimentaris per a la producci\u00f3 de pinsos per a animals. Aquest subprojecte aborda la bioremediaci\u00f3 de subproductes agroalimentaris d\u2019alta salinitat (com el s\u00e8rum de llet i els efluents d\u2019aq\u00fcicultura) mitjan\u00e7ant microalgues, definint condicions \u00f2ptimes de cultiu. A m\u00e9s, desenvolupa un model matem\u00e0tic per simular el creixement de microalgues en escenaris industrials i avalua l\u2019impacte de les prote\u00efnes alternatives derivades d\u2019aquestes microalgues en el creixement i la composici\u00f3 de peixos en sistemes d\u2019aq\u00fcicultura.<br><br><br><br>Gr\u00e0cies a PROALGAE, s\u2019espera que la depend\u00e8ncia de les prote\u00efnes convencionals pugui disminuir fins a un 30% mitjan\u00e7ant l\u2019\u00fas de microalgues cultivades en efluents, cosa que portar\u00e0 a una producci\u00f3 m\u00e9s sostenible i eficient, amb beneficis tant per al medi ambient com per a la ind\u00fastria aliment\u00e0ria i de pinsos.<br><br>El projecte t\u00e9 una durada de 3 anys (setembre de 2023 &#8211; agost de 2026) i compta amb un pressupost de 277.035 \u20ac.
