Per lluitar contra aquest fet, el projecte HYDROHEAL avaluar\u00e0, en concret i en condicions que simulen el cos hum\u00e0, com els bacteris s\u2019adhereixen als materials desenvolupats per determinar quines s\u00f3n les millors estrat\u00e8gies per prevenir aquest tipus d\u2019infeccions \u00f2ssies.<br><br>L\u2019equip investigador del projecte\u00a0europeu HYDROHEAL desenvolupar\u00e0\u00a0micropart\u00edcules encapsulades en hidrogels bioresorbibles i autoenduribles, que permetran incorporar i transportar diversos principis actius farmacol\u00f2gics.\u00a0Aquests biomaterials actuaran com a suport temporal per a la regeneraci\u00f3 \u00f2ssia i, alhora, permetran l\u2019alliberament controlat i dirigit dels principis actius,\u00a0millorant l\u2019efic\u00e0cia del tractament i reduint significativament el risc d\u2019infecci\u00f3 i de rebuig dels implants.\u00a0El projecte se centra a desenvolupar nous biomaterials per al tractament de fractures vertebrals i alveolars (a la mand\u00edbula, a la base de les dents), especialment en casos complexos derivats de l\u2019osteoporosi, c\u00e0ncer o traumatismes.<br><br>En el projecte s\u2019utilitzaran tecnologies innovadores com el recobriment \u201ccapa a capa\u201d per desenvolupar les micropart\u00edcules, afegint-hi diferents capes amb mol\u00e8cules actives que es puguin alliberar de manera seq\u00fcencial durant el tractament.HYDROHEAL tamb\u00e9 integrar\u00e0 eines d\u2019intel\u00b7lig\u00e8ncia artificial i modelatge digital h\u00edbrid per optimitzar el disseny i el rendiment dels nous materials. Despr\u00e9s d\u2019una fase inicial de formulaci\u00f3, es duran a terme assajos in vitro i in vivo per validar-ne l\u2019efic\u00e0cia i la seguretat, abans de passar a una producci\u00f3 sostenible a gran escala.<br><br><h4>Consorci, pressupost i finan\u00e7ament<\/h4><br><br>El projecte, finan\u00e7at pel programa Horizon de la Comissi\u00f3 Europea amb prop de 6,5 milions d\u2019euros, tindr\u00e0 una durada de quatre anys (juny de 2025 &#8211; maig de 2029).<br><br>Coordinat per la UPV, compta amb la participaci\u00f3 de 13 socis de 8 pa\u00efsos europeus, entre els quals hi ha universitats, hospitals, centres tecnol\u00f2gics i empreses dels \u00e0mbits farmac\u00e8utic i biom\u00e8dic. A m\u00e9s de la UPC i la UPV, hi participen institucions com la Newcastle University (Regne Unit), el Politecnico di Torino (It\u00e0lia), el Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (Irlanda), la University of Warwick (Regne Unit), el Centre for Process Innovation \u2013 CPI (Regne Unit), SITEC Pharmabio (Espanya), Separeco (It\u00e0lia), Vet Ex Machina LTD (Xipre), Fluidinova S.A. (Portugal), Asphalion S.A.
