Aquesta EDAR tracta anualment uns 4 hm\u00b3 d\u2019aigua, que actualment es descarrega al mar mitjan\u00e7ant un emissari submar\u00ed. Davant la necessitat de recuperar aquest recurs valu\u00f3s i millorar la gesti\u00f3 h\u00eddrica del territori, el projecte <a target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.life-remar.eu\/the-project\/\" target=\"_blank\">LIFE REMAR<\/a> proposa una soluci\u00f3 basada en la natura per reutilitzar l\u2019aigua tractada, augmentar la disponibilitat de recursos h\u00eddrics, millorar l\u2019estat de l\u2019aq\u00fc\u00edfer i contribuir a la conservaci\u00f3 dels ecosistemes aqu\u00e0tics.<br><br>El projecte consisteix en la rec\u00e0rrega de l\u2019aq\u00fc\u00edfer del Baix Camp utilitzant entre un 3 i un 4 % de l\u2019aigua tractada a l\u2019EDAR mitjan\u00e7ant una tecnologia de rec\u00e0rrega gestionada d\u2019aq\u00fc\u00edfers (MAR), concretament el sistema de Tractament S\u00f2l-Aq\u00fc\u00edfer (SAT) amb barreres reactives, per tal de millorar la qualitat de l\u2019aigua. Aquest sistema permet eliminar contaminants emergents, pat\u00f2gens, gens de resist\u00e8ncia als antibi\u00f2tics i micropl\u00e0stics, i reduir els nitrats a l\u2019aq\u00fc\u00edfer, entre d\u2019altres.\u00a0 \u00a0<br><br>En el marc del projecte, s\u2019han col\u00b7locat barreres reactives al fons de dues basses d\u2019infiltraci\u00f3 de 400 m\u00b2 cadascuna, dissenyades per recarregar fins a 200 m\u00b3\/dia, just al punt on comen\u00e7a la infiltraci\u00f3 de l\u2019aigua tractada cap a l\u2019aq\u00fc\u00edfer. Aquestes barreres estan compostes per diferents materials naturals i porosos que afavoreixen la retenci\u00f3 dels contaminants mitjan\u00e7ant la sorci\u00f3, donant temps a que la biodegradaci\u00f3 redueixi els contaminants que persisteixen despr\u00e9s del tractament secundari a l\u2019EDAR.<br><br>\u00a0<br><br>Aquest sistema pilot tamb\u00e9 utilitza les plantes com a part del tractament, entre altres utilitats com a sistema de prevenci\u00f3 de la colmataci\u00f3. Una de les basses incorpora la plantaci\u00f3 de Typha (una esp\u00e8cie de planta herb\u00e0cea t\u00edpica de zones humides), mentre que l\u2019altra es mant\u00e9 sense sembrar per permetre el creixement espontani d\u2019esp\u00e8cies aut\u00f2ctones.\u00a0<br><br>El sistema est\u00e0 dissenyat per recarregar anualment fins a 146.000 m\u00b3 d\u2019aigua, fet que representa una contribuci\u00f3 significativa a la reutilitzaci\u00f3 d\u2019aquest recurs.\u00a0<br><br>A m\u00e9s, per tal de monitorar-ne l\u2019efici\u00e8ncia i l\u2019impacte, s\u2019han perforat 8 piez\u00f2metres, instruments utilitzats per mesurar el nivell d\u2019aigua subterr\u00e0nia dins d\u2019un aq\u00fc\u00edfer, distribu\u00efts a l\u2019aq\u00fc\u00edfer aig\u00fces amunt, aig\u00fces avall i sota les basses a diferents dist\u00e0ncies, amb una zona ranurada d\u2019entre 2 i 4 metres dins l\u2019aq\u00fc\u00edfer superficial del Baix Camp. Els piez\u00f2metres permeten monitorar el proc\u00e9s de rec\u00e0rrega i la qualitat de l\u2019aigua al llarg de tot el sistema.\u00a0<br><br><h4>Impacte<\/h4><br><br>Els resultats obtinguts en aquesta escala pilot serviran com a base per al disseny del sistema a major escala. S\u2019espera que REMAR pugui donar resposta als desafiaments en la gesti\u00f3 de l\u2019aigua al Baix Camp i inspiri solucions an\u00e0logues en altres EDARs en regions mediterr\u00e0nies que afronten reptes similars. El projecte contribueix a una major disponibilitat d\u2019aigua dol\u00e7a per a l\u2019agricultura, la restauraci\u00f3 de les zones de desc\u00e0rrega subterr\u00e0nia d\u2019aigua marina i dels ecosistemes costaners, beneficiant els ciutadans, la comunitat i el medi ambient de manera segura.<br><br><h4>Socis, pressupost i finan\u00e7ament<\/h4><br><br>LIFE REMAR (LIFE20 ENV\/ES\/000284) est\u00e0 coordinat per l\u2019empresa Comaigua i, a m\u00e9s de la UPC, el projecte compta amb la participaci\u00f3 de l\u2019Institut de Diagn\u00f2stic Ambiental i Estudis de l\\&#8217;Aigua del Consell Superior d\\&#8217;Investigacions Cient\u00edfiques (IDAEA-CSIC), el Centre Nacional de la Recerca Cient\u00edfica (CNRS) i l\u2019empresa Mejoras Energ\u00e9ticas.\u00a0<br><br>El projecte t\u00e9 un pressupost total de 2.102.975 \u20ac i una durada de 48 mesos (2022-2025).
