Aix\u00f2 passa perqu\u00e8 els materials utilitzats a les infraestructures urbanes absorbeixen m\u00e9s radiaci\u00f3 solar i alliberen la calor lentament, incrementant la temperatura ambiental. Aquest fenomen t\u00e9 conseq\u00fc\u00e8ncies negatives, ja que impacta en el confort t\u00e8rmic, augmenta el consum energ\u00e8tic i empitjora la qualitat de l\u2019aire a les ciutats. Aquesta situaci\u00f3, juntament amb la creixent preocupaci\u00f3 de les administracions p\u00fabliques per mitigar aquest efecte, ha impulsat la recerca i el desenvolupament de solucions innovadores que contribueixin a crear entorns m\u00e9s sostenibles i saludables. RELUM neix per donar una resposta innovadora a aquest repte.<br><br>L\u2019objectiu del projecte ha estat, en primer lloc, investigar com els materials i la seva combinaci\u00f3 en les mescles bituminoses en calent influeixen en la reflect\u00e0ncia solar i la temperatura que assoleix la superf\u00edcie del paviment com a conseq\u00fc\u00e8ncia de la radiaci\u00f3 solar. En segon lloc, dissenyar paviments amb alta reflect\u00e0ncia solar, \u00e9s a dir, amb una elevada capacitat per reflectir la radiaci\u00f3 solar en lloc d\u2019absorbir-la. Una major reflect\u00e0ncia solar redueix l\u2019acumulaci\u00f3 de calor en edificis i paviments, contribuint aix\u00ed a minimitzar l\u2019efecte illa de calor.<br><br>En el marc del projecte RELUM, s\u2019ha demostrat el potencial dels paviments reflectants, en concret de les mescles ultrafines amb diferents combinacions d\u2019\u00e0rids i pigments. Tamb\u00e9 s\u2019han mesurat les temperatures d\u2019aquestes superf\u00edcies exposades al sol en diferents moments de l\u2019any (en dies molt calorosos, molt freds i amb temperatures interm\u00e8dies) per observar-ne el comportament en condicions reals.<br><br>El projecte ha perm\u00e8s constatar que les mescles m\u00e9s clares, elaborades amb \u00e0rids calcaris, betum sint\u00e8tic i pigment de di\u00f2xid de titani, presenten la m\u00e0xima reflect\u00e0ncia, amb un valor del 57%, mentre que les mescles m\u00e9s fosques, preparades amb \u00e0rids p\u00f2rfidics i betum convencional, tenen la reflect\u00e0ncia m\u00e9s baixa, al voltant del 8%. Aix\u00ed mateix, s\u2019ha registrat una difer\u00e8ncia m\u00e0xima de temperatura de 22,7 \u00baC entre ambdues.<br><br><h4>Impacte<\/h4><br><br>Els resultats obtinguts en el marc del projecte han perm\u00e8s avan\u00e7ar en el desenvolupament de nous paviments reflectants que redueixen l\u2019absorci\u00f3 i retenci\u00f3 de calor, contribuint a mitigar l\u2019efecte illa de calor a les ciutats. En disminuir la temperatura ambiental, aquests paviments fomenten la sostenibilitat urbana i el benestar de la ciutadania.<br><br><h4>Pressupost i finan\u00e7ament<\/h4><br><br>El projecte ha comptat amb un pressupost total de 148.580 \u20ac i s\u2019ha desenvolupat en el marc del Pla Estatal d\u2019Investigaci\u00f3 Cient\u00edfica, T\u00e8cnica i d\u2019Innovaci\u00f3 2021-2023 (TED2021-132077B-I00).
