Pluges intenses, temporals mar\u00edtims, onades de calor, sequeres, vents extrems o incendis han evidenciat la vulnerabilitat d\u2019actius que, en molts casos, no han estat dissenyats tenint en compte l\u2019impacte del canvi clim\u00e0tic.<\/p><br><br><p>En aquest context, el projecte europeu <a target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.icaria-project.eu\/\" target=\"_blank\">ICARIA<\/a> (pel seu nom en angl\u00e8s, Improving ClimAte Resilience of crItical Assets) ha abordat un repte especialment rellevant per a administracions i operadors: entendre millor com aquests fen\u00f2mens, sovint simultanis o concatenats, poden afectar persones, habitatges, xarxes vi\u00e0ries o subministraments b\u00e0sics, i com es poden reduir aquests impactes amb mesures d\u2019adaptaci\u00f3 eficaces.<\/p><br><br><p>La principal aportaci\u00f3 d\u2019ICARIA ha estat transformar aquesta complexitat en eines \u00fatils per a la presa de decisions. En el cas de l\u2019\u00e0rea metropolitana de Barcelona, el projecte ha desenvolupat nous mapes de risc d\u2019inundaci\u00f3 pluvial que han perm\u00e8s estimar com podria evolucionar la inundabilitat en les pr\u00f2ximes d\u00e8cades sota diferents escenaris de canvi clim\u00e0tic. Els resultats indiquen que, si no s\u2019adopten mesures d\u2019adaptaci\u00f3, les \u00e0rees vulnerables a inundacions pluvials severes podrien cr\u00e9ixer fins a un 25% en els pr\u00f2xims 75 anys. Amb aquest coneixement ha estat possible identificar amb m\u00e9s precisi\u00f3 quins municipis, barris o carrers podrien veure\u2019s m\u00e9s afectats i, per tant, on convindria actuar abans.<\/p><br><br><p>La soluci\u00f3 desenvolupada pel projecte combina mapes de risc, estudis d\u2019impacte i un sistema de suport a la decisi\u00f3 gratu\u00eft i accessible per als agents implicats en el desenvolupament de pol\u00edtiques clim\u00e0tiques. L\u2019enfocament no es limita sols a analitzar episodis a\u00efllats, sin\u00f3 que incorpora una visi\u00f3 hol\u00edstica dels fen\u00f2mens extrems. Aix\u00f2 ha perm\u00e8s estudiar, per exemple, com la coincid\u00e8ncia entre una pluja intensa i un temporal mar\u00edtim \u2014com va passar durant el temporal Gloria\u2014 podria dificultar el drenatge cap al mar i agreujar les inundacions en zones costaneres. A partir d\u2019aquesta an\u00e0lisi, en el marc d\u2019ICARIA tamb\u00e9 s\u2019han proposat noves mesures d\u2019adaptaci\u00f3 com ara cobertes verdes, paviments porosos i \u00e0rees de bioretenci\u00f3, concebudes com a solucions sostenibles, replicables i \u00fatils per a altres regions europees.<\/p><br><br><p>L\u2019equip de recerca de la UPC, liderat des de l\u2019Institut Flumen, ha tingut un paper rellevant en aquest aven\u00e7, tant per la seva aportaci\u00f3 cient\u00edfica com per la seva capacitat de traslladar el coneixement a eines aplicables. El projecte ha estat coliderat per l\u2019empresa Veolia a Espanya i la UPC. La participaci\u00f3 de l\u2019Institut Flumen ha refor\u00e7at l\u2019an\u00e0lisi del risc d\u2019inundaci\u00f3 i la generaci\u00f3 de coneixement \u00fatil per avan\u00e7ar cap a una planificaci\u00f3 m\u00e9s resilient. Un altre element diferencial ha estat el treball amb els agents del territori a trav\u00e9s de comunitats de pr\u00e0ctica, el qual ha contribu\u00eft a orientar les eines desenvolupades a necessitats reals de planificaci\u00f3 i gesti\u00f3.<\/p><br><br><h4>Pressupost i consorci<\/h4><br><br><p>ICARIA \u00e9s un projecte cofinan\u00e7at pel programa Horizon Europe, i ha tingut una durada de 3 anys (gener de 2023 &#8211; mar\u00e7 de 2026). Ha rebut un un finan\u00e7ament per un import total de 2,29 milions d\u2019euros.
