No obstant aix\u00f2, els processos productius del sector es caracteritzen per una elevada intensitat energ\u00e8tica i unes emissions de carboni significatives, fet que representa un repte substancial per assolir els objectius de neutralitat clim\u00e0tica establerts per la Uni\u00f3 Europea per a l\u2019any 2050.<\/p><br><br><p>En aquest context, el projecte <a target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/h2-glass.eu\/\" target=\"_blank\">H2GLASS<\/a> promou el desenvolupament de noves tecnologies orientades a facilitar l\u2019adopci\u00f3 de combusti\u00f3 del 100% amb hidrogen en els processos industrials dels sectors del vidre i l\u2019alumini. Aquesta transici\u00f3 cap a l\u2019hidrogen verd permet una reducci\u00f3 significativa de les emissions de CO\u2082, sense augmentar les emissions contaminants com els \u00f2xids de nitrogen (NOx). La tecnologia prevista permetr\u00e0 operar amb mescles de diferents concentracions d\u2019H\u2082, sense impactar negativament en la qualitat del producte, la qual cosa proporciona una major flexibilitat operativa entre gas natural i electricitat.<\/p><br><br><p>La participaci\u00f3 de CITCEA-UPC se centra en el desenvolupament d\\&#8217;algoritmes avan\u00e7ats d\\&#8217;optimitzaci\u00f3 en temps real per a la gesti\u00f3 energ\u00e8tica de les instal\u00b7lacions industrials. A partir de dades hist\u00f2riques i en temps real procedents del proc\u00e9s de fabricaci\u00f3, de la generaci\u00f3 local (fotovoltaica o cogeneraci\u00f3) i del mercat el\u00e8ctric, es pot avaluar i quantificar la flexibilitat disponible per reduir costos operatius, minimitzar emissions i facilitar la prestaci\u00f3 de serveis al sistema el\u00e8ctric, com el suport de freq\u00fc\u00e8ncia i tensi\u00f3 o la gesti\u00f3 de congestions.<\/p><br><br><p>CITCEA-UPC tamb\u00e9 duu a terme una activitat de recerca espec\u00edfica centrada en l\u2019an\u00e0lisi de tecnologies de convertidors de pot\u00e8ncia aplicades a l\u2019electr\u00f2lisi. Aquesta tasca abasta un ampli ventall de topologies de convertidors, des de rectificadors convencionals fins a convertidors avan\u00e7ats, amb l\u2019objectiu d\u2019avaluar-ne l\u2019impacte tant en l\u2019efici\u00e8ncia i el comportament din\u00e0mic del proc\u00e9s d\u2019electr\u00f2lisi com en el sistema el\u00e8ctric. L\u2019estudi examina com aquests convertidors influeixen en l\u2019estabilitat operativa, la qualitat de la producci\u00f3 d\u2019hidrogen i la resposta davant variacions de pot\u00e8ncia, alhora que analitza la seva capacitat per proporcionar serveis complementaris com el suport de freq\u00fc\u00e8ncia, el suport de tensi\u00f3 i altres funcions de suport a la xarxa. Aquesta contribuci\u00f3 pret\u00e9n identificar els camins tecnol\u00f2gics \u00f2ptims per a la integraci\u00f3 de sistemes d\u2019electr\u00f2lisi a gran escala en xarxes el\u00e8ctriques modernes amb elevats nivells de generaci\u00f3 renovable.<\/p><br><br><p>A m\u00e9s, CITCEA-UPC ha desenvolupat una eina de disseny del sistema d\u2019hidrogen. Utilitzant eines d\u2019optimitzaci\u00f3, es dimensionen els actius del sistema (fotovoltaica, electrolitzador, tanc d\u2019hidrogen, etc.) per minimitzar els costos segons l\u2019operaci\u00f3. Partint de dades hor\u00e0ries al llarg d\u2019un any del consum del proc\u00e9s de fabricaci\u00f3 i preus del mercat el\u00e8ctric i de gas natural, aix\u00ed com els preus de les diferents tecnologies, s\u2019avalua la viabilitat tecnico-econ\u00f2mica de l\u2019hidrogen respecte a combustibles f\u00f2ssils, incloent criteris ambientals i de seguretat en la operaci\u00f3.<\/p><br><br><p>Tot i que l\u2019\u00fas d\u2019hidrogen est\u00e0 consolidat en determinades aplicacions industrials i es considera una opci\u00f3 energ\u00e8tica segura, l\u2019escala industrialitzada del seu \u00fas comporta reptes espec\u00edfics relacionats amb la seguretat, l\u2019efici\u00e8ncia del proc\u00e9s, la gesti\u00f3 del subministrament i el control d\u2019emissions. En aquest sentit, H2GLASS preveu la implementaci\u00f3 de protocols de seguretat rigorosos, especificament dissenyats per garantir una manipulaci\u00f3 i combusti\u00f3 segura de l\u2019hidrogen, en alineaci\u00f3 amb les directrius del Panell Europeu de Seguretat de l\u2019Hidrogen. Aix\u00ed mateix, s\u2019integraran bessons digitals per facilitar estrat\u00e8gies de manteniment predictiu basades en la gesti\u00f3 del risc.<\/p><br><br><p>Un dels objectius clau del projecte \u00e9s garantir la transferibilitat de les tecnologies desenvolupades a altres ind\u00fastries intensives en energia, com la de l\u2019alumini. Ambd\u00f3s sectors, vidre i alumini, comparteixen caracter\u00edstiques t\u00e8cniques similars en els seus processos productius, aix\u00ed com barreres comunes per a la integraci\u00f3 de fonts d\u2019energia alternatives als combustibles f\u00f2ssils.
