La creixent penetraci\u00f3 d\u2019energies renovables variables exigeix centrals capaces de respondre amb rapidesa als canvis de demanda i de proporcionar serveis auxiliars de xarxa, com la regulaci\u00f3 de freq\u00fc\u00e8ncia. En aquest context, les centrals hidroel\u00e8ctriques reversibles tenen un paper clau per aportar estabilitat i flexibilitat al sistema.<\/p><br><br><p>Tanmateix, aquesta nova funci\u00f3 operativa t\u00e9 un cost tecnol\u00f2gic. Quan les turbines treballen en rangs de funcionament m\u00e9s amplis i en condicions fora d\u2019especificaci\u00f3, augmenten les c\u00e0rregues din\u00e0miques i el desgast dels components hidromec\u00e0nics cr\u00edtics, com el rodet de la turbina o els mecanismes de regulaci\u00f3 del cabal. Aix\u00f2 pot reduir la vida \u00fatil dels equips, allargar els per\u00edodes de revisi\u00f3 i incrementar els costos d\u2019operaci\u00f3 i manteniment. El repte, per tant, \u00e9s trobar solucions que permetin prestar serveis de xarxa amb m\u00e9s flexibilitat sense penalitzar la fiabilitat ni la rendibilitat de la central.<\/p><br><br><p><a target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/flexhybat.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">FLEXHYBAT<\/a> proposa una soluci\u00f3 basada en la hibridaci\u00f3 de turbines hidroel\u00e8ctriques amb sistemes d\u2019emmagatzematge amb bateries de segona vida. Aquestes bateries poden actuar com a element amortidor entre les demandes r\u00e0pides de la xarxa i la resposta mec\u00e0nica de la turbina, absorbint part de les fluctuacions i reduint els moviments continus dels components hidromec\u00e0nics. D\u2019aquesta manera, el sistema h\u00edbrid pot contribuir a reduir el desgast, millorar l\u2019efici\u00e8ncia operativa i oferir una resposta m\u00e9s r\u00e0pida i precisa als serveis auxiliars.<\/p><br><br><p>El projecte combina modelitzaci\u00f3, simulaci\u00f3 de xarxa, bessons digitals, caracteritzaci\u00f3 experimental de bateries i validaci\u00f3 mitjan\u00e7ant sistemes de laboratori a escala redu\u00efda i hardware-in-the-loop (una metodologia de prova en qu\u00e8 una part del sistema \u00e9s real \u2014en aquest cas els components\u2014 i la resta del sistema es representa mitjan\u00e7ant una simulaci\u00f3 en temps real). Tamb\u00e9 desenvolupa models de baixa complexitat, per\u00f2 precisos, per descriure el rendiment i l\u2019envelliment de bateries de segona vida, aix\u00ed com metodologies per reduir els temps de prova i facilitar-ne la reutilitzaci\u00f3. Un altre element rellevant \u00e9s l\u2019estandarditzaci\u00f3 de fitxes de dades de bateries de segona vida, amb l\u2019objectiu de donar m\u00e9s seguretat i tra\u00e7abilitat al proc\u00e9s de reaprofitament.<\/p><br><br><p>Els resultats esperats apunten a que una bateria relativament petita podria tenir un impacte molt significatiu: una pot\u00e8ncia de bateria d\u2019aproximadament el 4% de la pot\u00e8ncia de la turbina es considera un punt \u00f2ptim, i aquesta configuraci\u00f3 pot reduir fins a un 50% el moviment acumulat dels actuadors mec\u00e0nics durant serveis de regulaci\u00f3 autom\u00e0tica de freq\u00fc\u00e8ncia. Tamb\u00e9 s\u2019esperen reduccions importants dels cicles d\u2019esfor\u00e7 en components com el mecanisme dels \u00e0leps directors i el rodet de la turbina.<\/p><br><br><p>L\u2019aportaci\u00f3 de la UPC se centra en dos \u00e0mbits complementaris. El CDIF aporta el seu coneixement en el principi de funcionament de les turbines hidr\u00e0uliques, la diagnosi, els mecanismes de degradaci\u00f3, la modelitzaci\u00f3 din\u00e0mica i l\u2019avaluaci\u00f3 de l\u2019impacte de la hibridaci\u00f3 sobre la vida \u00fatil dels components cr\u00edtics. Per la seva banda, l\u2019EPIC contribueix amb la seva expertesa en caracteritzaci\u00f3 t\u00e8rmica i el\u00e8ctrica de bateries, modelitzaci\u00f3, estimaci\u00f3 de l\u2019envelliment i an\u00e0lisi de bateries de segona vida. Aquesta combinaci\u00f3 permet abordar el repte des d\u2019una perspectiva integrada, connectant el comportament hidromec\u00e0nic de la central amb el rendiment del sistema d\u2019emmagatzematge.<\/p><br><br><p>El projecte utilitza com a demostrador la central hidroel\u00e8ctrica reversible Sallente-Estany Gento, situada a la Torre de Cabdella, al Pallars Juss\u00e0. La instal\u00b7laci\u00f3 permet analitzar en un entorn real les condicions de funcionament, les necessitats d\u2019emmagatzematge i l\u2019impacte potencial de la hibridaci\u00f3 sobre la flexibilitat de la central.<\/p><br><br><h4>Consorci, pressupost i finan\u00e7ament<\/h4><br><br><p>FLEXHYBAT est\u00e0 coordinat entre la UPC i la Universidad de Oviedo (UNIOVI). El projecte est\u00e0 finan\u00e7at pel Ministerio de Ciencia, Innovaci\u00f3n y Universidades (PID2022-139479OB-C21) en el marc del Plan Estatal de Investigaci\u00f3n Cient\u00edfica y T\u00e9cnica y de Innovaci\u00f3n 2021-2023 (Agencia Estatal de Investigaci\u00f3n).
