Les mat\u00e8ries recuperades es destinaran a usos industrials i contribuiran a reduir la depend\u00e8ncia comercial d\u2019Europa.<\/h4><br>Project Header<br>no-repeat;left top;;<br>auto<br>20px<br><br><br><p>La dessalinitzaci\u00f3 de l\\&#8217;aigua marina \u00e9s un m\u00e8tode cada cop m\u00e9s utilitzat per obtenir aigua per a usos industrials, per\u00f2 aquest proc\u00e9s genera salmorres, efluents amb alta concentraci\u00f3 de sals, que tradicionalment es considera un residu. El projecte <a target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/magna-project.eu\/\" target=\"_blank\">MagNa<\/a> (amb nom en angl\u00e8s, Valorising Brine into a Sustainable Resource through Mg(OH)2 and NaCl recovery), donar\u00e0 valor a les salmorres, recuperant hidr\u00f2xid de magnesi i clorur de sodi \u2013sal\u2013 de gran puresa gr\u00e0cies a una tecnologia innovadora.<\/p><br><br><p>L\u2019hidr\u00f2xid de magnesi i el clorur de sodi s\u00f3n mat\u00e8ries primeres valuoses amb aplicacions en diferents ind\u00fastries com la qu\u00edmica o la farmac\u00e8utica, i actualment s\\&#8217;importen en un gran percentatge des de pa\u00efsos externs a la Uni\u00f3 Europea (UE). En aquest context, el projecte MagNa pret\u00e9n reduir aquesta depend\u00e8ncia i, al mateix temps, minimitzar l\\&#8217;impacte mediambiental de la dessalinitzaci\u00f3 gr\u00e0cies a un enfocament d\\&#8217;economia circular.<\/p><br><br><p>En el marc el projecte, s\u2019est\u00e0 desenvolupant un innovador tren de tractament de salmorres a escala industrial a les instal\u00b7lacions d\\&#8217;Aitasa (Aig\u00fces Industrials de Tarragona Societat An\u00f2nima) per recuperar magnesi i sodi de gran puresa. Aquest tren, que tindr\u00e0 dues unitats diferenciades, tractar\u00e0 un cabal aproximat de 6,5 metres c\u00fabics\/hora d\\&#8217;aigua de mar.<\/p><br><br><p>La contribuci\u00f3 de l\u2019equip de la UPC, a trav\u00e9s del grup <a target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/futur.upc.edu\/R2EM\" target=\"_blank\">Resources Recovery and Environmental Management (R2EM)<\/a> del <a target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/multiscale.upc.edu\/en\" target=\"_blank\">Centre de Recerca en Ci\u00e8ncia i Enginyeria Multiescala de Barcelona (CCEM)<\/a>, se centra en la recuperaci\u00f3 de magnesi de les salmorres de dessalatge per produir Mg(OH)\u2082(s) mitjan\u00e7ant cristal\u00b7litzaci\u00f3 reactiva. El producte obtingut presenta la qualitat necess\u00e0ria per a la seva comercialitzaci\u00f3 en aplicacions farmac\u00e8utiques, en la formulaci\u00f3 de fertilitzants i com a retardant de flama.<\/p><br><br><p>El proc\u00e9s es basa en un enfocament circular, en qu\u00e8 els reactius necessaris per a la producci\u00f3 de Mg(OH)\u2082(s) es generen on-site a partir de la sal resultant i mitjan\u00e7ant tecnologies electroqu\u00edmiques de membranes.<\/p><br><br><p>MagNa ajudar\u00e0 a resoldre dos grans reptes per a Europa: la vulnerabilitat davant la manca de producci\u00f3 local de mat\u00e8ries primeres clau per al desenvolupament econ\u00f2mic, i la gesti\u00f3 de la creixent pres\u00e8ncia de salmorres, especialment a Espanya, que \u00e9s un dels cinc pa\u00efsos del m\u00f3n on m\u00e9s es dessalinitza l\\&#8217;aigua pel seu context d\u2019estr\u00e8s h\u00eddric. A m\u00e9s, la tecnologia que es crear\u00e0 podr\u00e0 replicar-se en altres plantes dessalinitzadores, maximitzant-ne l\\&#8217;impacte a mitj\u00e0 termini.<\/p><br><br><h4>Consorci, pressupost i finan\u00e7ament<\/h4><br><br><p>El projecte est\u00e0 liderat per Cetaqua-Centre Tecnol\u00f2gic de l\\&#8217;Aigua i, a m\u00e9s de la UPC, compta amb la participaci\u00f3 d\u2019Aitasa-Aig\u00fces Industrials de Tarragona i Veolia. MagNa est\u00e0 cofinan\u00e7at per la convocat\u00f2ria <a target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/eitrawmaterials.eu\/\" target=\"_blank\">EIT RawMaterials<\/a> de la UE (en el marc del programa Horizon Europe 2021-2027).
