Internship for the EIT Urban Mobility central offices (Ref.: EITUM/2019-01)


EIT Knowledge and Innovation Communities (KICs) bring together public authorities (municipalities), businesses (industry and SMEs), research centres and universities as partners, creating a favourable environment for creative thought and innovation to flourish, allowing innovative products and services to be developed in every area imaginable, including climate change, healthy living and active ageing, new companies to be started, and a new generation of entrepreneurs to be trained. They carry out a whole range of activities that cover the entire innovation chain – including training and education programmes, reinforcing the journey from research to the market, innovation projects as well as business incubators and accelerators. Innovation Communities have been conceived so that they are able to react in an effective and flexible way to new challenges and changing environments.

EIT Urban Mobility is an Innovation Community funded by the EU and is currently consisting of 90 partners from 15 countries dedicated to accelerating solutions that improve our collective use of urban spaces, while ensuring accessible, convenient, safe, efficient, sustainable and affordable multimodal mobility. EIT Urban Mobility’s objective is to rethink urban spaces, overcoming fragmentation by integrating all urban mobility players – including cities and citizens – and increasing social inclusion and equality.

The EIT Urban Mobility (EIT UM) announces a traineeship opportunity lasting a minimum of three and a maximum not defined. The traineeship shall aim principally to aid in supporting the daily operations of the EIT Urban Mobility central office.

The place of employment will be Barcelona, where the EIT UM HQ will  be located.

The job


Reporting to the CEO and COO, the trainee will be part of the EIT UM Central Office. S/he will support the activities related to the ongoing activities of the EIT UM.


The tasks of the Trainee will include:

  • Provide assistance to the CEO/COO and Management team in launching of initial activities of EIT UM
  • Support the preparation of presentation and working documents.
  • Assist the CEO/COO in organising meeting and presentations.
  • Provide assistance CEO/COO in managing and monitoring/updating the business plan on a regular basis
  • Any other administrative tasks relating to activities.



Student of Master degree. Preferably in Engineering, business, management, Civil engineering or Arquitecture.

 General Skills

  • Must be able to assume responsibility, demonstrate sound judgment and professional poise.
  • Ability to manage sensitive situations while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal and time management skills.


  • Mobility knowledge will be valuated positively.
  • Solid organizational skills, including attention to detail
