InLab FIB has presented the TurnItOn project, an energy optimization system for teleworking assistance, on the enerTIC platform. The project has been selected as a finalist in the category Solutions and Services of the eighth Edition of the enerTIC Awards, ‘Awards for Innovation and Technology for Energy Efficiency in the Digital Age’.
The TurnItOn project by the inLab FIB research group is a web platform from which to manage the energy status of computers in the work environment, to ensure that they are only on for the minimum amount of time necessary. This reduces energy consumption and also provides employees with a simple tool to be able to switch on and off their computers when they want and from wherever they want. This makes TurnItOn a crucial tool for teleworking.
The enerTIC Awards are an initiative to identify, award and disseminate successful cases and good practices that serve as a reference to advance and raise awareness of the opportunities provided by the digitalisation of cities, industries and data centres, etc.
The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony of the enerTIC Awards 2020 on 2 and 3 December at the Smart Energy Congress (Madrid).
