13/06/2018

The College of Industrial Engineers of Girona (CETIG) and Comexi have recognised the work of the CIT UPC Technology Center in the thirteenth edition of the Manel Xifra i Boada Awards, presented on 1 June.

The CIT UPC Technology Center received the Manel Xifra i Boada Award in the category of applied research group or technology centre. The UPC Rector, Francesc Torres, received the award during the ceremony of the thirteenth edition of the Awards, organised by the College of Industrial Engineers of Girona (CETIG) and Comexi  and held on 1 June in the La Mercè Auditorium, Girona.

CIT UPC, which brings together over 20 centres specialized in R&D&i, works to strengthen ties between the university and the production sector. Together, the centres have generated a thousand of projects and R&D&i agreements in the last year, registered over 50 patents, participated in close to 25 companies, and created a dozen companies.

The Awards are held annually in memory of Manel Xifra i Boada (1928-2005), a technical engineer who devoted his working life to the industrial sector. The Awards recognise the work of those who have contributed to the dissemination, consolidation, and distinction of the technical engineering professional.
