The Research Centre for Food Safety and Control (CRESCA) organised the ninth edition of the Spanish National Congress of Legionella and Environmental Quality for the 9 and 10 June 2021 in online format.
The congress had a practical focus. During the event, the causes of distortion in the indoor environment were analysed, and initiatives and strategies to ensure an ideal environment in a sustainable way. In particular, the congress centred on the variables that significantly influence this aspect: air quality, hygiene conditions and risk factors for legionella.
The congress was aimed at a broad group of professionals who are involved to varying degrees in the prevention of legionellosis, such as architects, engineers, installers, equipment maintenance technicians and companies focused on treatment and disinfection of installations.
The congress, which is a leading event in Catalonia and Spain, has been held every two years since 2004. This year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it was held in online format and had 150 participants from different places in Spain.
