The Data Management group (DAMA UPC) has developed a pilot project for SEAT that allows the possibility of introducing modifications to the car's navigator route based on actual data on traffic congestion, pollution levels, exceptional events (demonstrations, marathons). ..), which can be avoided with an alternative route. Driving is safer, carbon emissions are reduced and travel time is saved. The technology behind the City Smart Navigation Platform is CIGO !, developed by researchers from DAMA UPC and Sparsity, its spin-off.
This project is part of CARNET, a hub for research and innovation focused on the field of automotive and urban mobility of the future in Barcelona, promoted by UPC, Volkswagen Research and SEAT.
