The Hydraulic and Pneumatic Systems Laboratory (LABSON UPC) and Nextrencher worked together to develop new suction equipment for trenchers.

One of the innovations incorporated into the new machines is a high-performance suction system that leaves trenches completely free of waste (stones and earth). This reduces execution costs and improves the quality of the finish.

LABSON UPC collaborated on the project at various levels: an analysis of the state of the art of existing suction system technologies, the proposal and validation of the best technical solution, the conceptual design of the equipment and the implementation and final verification after construction.

NEXTRENCHER, a brand of the GRUP CALAF, is the result of 53 years of experience as a public works and services construction company and over 37 years working on the design and manufacture of its own trenching machines.

The project was partly funded by the European Regional Development Fund (FEDER), within the Operational Programme Smart Growth 2014-2020.
