The BBT group, which is part of CREB UPC, is taking part in a project led by the Vall d’Hebron Research Institute (VHIR) ThermoShot ™ -FlashShot ™, one of 23 biomedical research projects selected this year to form part of the third edition of Caixaimpulse.

ThermoShot ™ -FlashShot ™ is a technological tool that is not currently available in clinical practice. It combines nanotechnology, antibiotics, and physical and chemical strategies to treat multidrug resistant bacteria and infections caused by medical devices such as catheters and prostheses. The strength of the project lies in its multidisciplinary nature, with experts in areas as diverse as nanoscience, biomaterial engineering and electrochemistry, business and entrepreneurship, combined with an integrated medical approach to infectious diseases, microbiology and orthopedics.

The project will receive 70,000 euros in grants to facilitate the transfer of the end technology to the market.
