The call ‘Retreating to grow: the impact of pandemics in a world without visible borders’ (PANDÈMIES 2020) of the Agency for Management of University and Research Grants (AGAUR), has awarded various grants to research projects whose aim is to analyse the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic specifically, and the concept of pandemic in general.

The projects will be developed in a maximum of 18 months. They propose new measures, models and areas of action that contribute to overcoming the consequences of pandemics and defining new prevention, analysis and treatment models.

Among the 32 funded projects, four are led by or involve the participation of researchers from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya · BarcelonaTech (UPC). Theseare the projects DIVINE, Barcelona Ciutat Fràgil, ‘Drones against COVID-19’ and ComMit-20, the latter led by the IREC.
