The Predictive Company is the new spin-off of the Motion Control and Industrial Applications (MCIA) research centre, created to market energy efficiency software for buildings based on artificial intelligence.
This is an energy efficiency solution that enables predictive control of air conditioning systems in buildings to save energy consumption, associated costs and CO2 emissions by up to 30%. It can be implemented in any type of non-residential building such as schools, offices, museums or hospitals, among others.
This system is based on the connection of existing data on air conditioning management in a building, using a digital platform on the cloud to create a digital twin and make an accurate prediction of energy needs. This enables optimum predictive control of HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning) equipment. In this way, only the energy that is really needed is used to attain the same interior air quality in the building.
The predictive algorithms eliminate energy waste and enable savings and consequently reductions in CO2 emissions. Another relevant factor in this solution is that it extends the useful life of equipment, as equipment is used optimally in the places of maximum performance and it is possible to detect deterioration and malfunctioning prior to the failure of the system.
The spin-off arose with the support of the innovation programme “The Collider” of the Mobile World Capital. It has been recognised by programmes and associations, such as the recent first BBVA 2021 prize for Innovation in Environmental Sustainability.
