In the eighth edition of the CYD ranking, UPC leads Spanish universities in knowledge transfer, in joint top position with the UAB. The university also had good internationalisation results.
The CYD Foundation has presented the results of the eighth edition of the CYD Ranking, which analyses 77 Spanish universities based on a battery of indicators grouped into five main areas: teaching and learning, research, knowledge transfer, international orientation, and contribution to regional development.
In the 2021 edition, the area in which the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya · BarcelonaTech (UPC) obtained the best results, considered as the percentage of indicators with a high level of performance by dimension, continued to be knowledge transfer (with 87.5% of high performance indicators), followed by internationalisation (with 71.4% of high performance indicators).
The CYD does not give the results for each indicator rather than an overall indicator, considering the university’s position in comparison with the set of Spanish universities. Consequently, it does not publish one list but as many lists as the number of indicators that are analysed. The indicators are classified as high, average or low performance depending on the institution’s position in the overall distribution.
