To respond to this challenge, the project BlockBatCE has been launched with the participation of a consortium comprised of the Universitat Polit\u00e8cnica de Catalunya &#8211; BarcelonaTech (UPC) through the Center for Innovation in Electronics, Motion Control and Industrial Applications (MCIA), the Catalan Efficient Energy Cluster (coordinator of the project), Solartys Solar Energy Cluster, and entities and service companies in the energy sector, and those involved in research and technological development on storage, blockchain and digitalisation, including Enertika, Holtrop, Millor Battery and Zertifier.\r<br>The main aim of BlockBatCE is to develop a comprehensive solution for the design and management of smart energy communities that promote the connectivity of the equipment that comprises the energy hub (solar panels, energy storage batteries, distribution system and monitoring devices), to optimise the system in terms of efficiency, cost and sustainability.\r<br>In addition, through a blockchain certified digital register, transactions with energy markets will be possible to exchange electricity, whether internally or eventually externally to the energy community.\r<br>In BlockBatCE, the MCIA of the UPC is working on the digital modelling of energy communities, and on the design of the logic of operation and predictive control for optimum functioning.<br>Project Header<br>no-repeat;left top;;<br>auto<br>20px<br><br>Despite the existence of energy communities in Spain for several years, the constant technological, organisational and legal advances mean that technological solutions must be created that can accompany the user during this paradigm shift.
