The association recognises contributions in the computer science field, such as algorithms, networks, computer architecture, robotics, distributed systems, software development, wireless systems and web technology, among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/futur.upc.edu\/AntonioMariaGonzalezColas\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Antonio Gonz\u00e1lez<\/a> leads the research group <a target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/arco.e.ac.upc.edu\/wiki\/index.php?title=Main_Page\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ARCO (Architectures and Compilers)<\/a>, whose scientific activity is centred on the area of <strong>robust, energy efficient architectures<\/strong> for general-purpose computers, graphic processors and cognitive computing systems. He has worked on projects such as <a target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/cit.upc.edu\/ca\/portfolio-item\/cocounit\/\">CoCoUnit \u2013 future processors for intelligent computing systems<\/a>, among others. He has received several prizes such as the UPC&nbsp;<a target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.upc.edu\/consellsocial\/ca\/els-premis\/PremiDuranFarell\/edicions-xxxx-a-xxxx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Duran Farrell 2008<\/a>&nbsp;award for technology research and the <a target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.icrea.cat\/ca\/icrea-academia\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ICREA Academia<\/a> 2014 and 2019 prize. He is a member of the <a target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ieee.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE)<\/a>&nbsp;and ACM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2020, the ACM distinguished from universities and research centres in Australia, Austria, Canada, China, Germany, Israel, Japan, the Netherlands, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, the United Kingdom and the United States.
