The <strong>Institutional Honour Award <\/strong>for the<strong> Universitat Polit\u00e8cnica de Catalunya \u00b7 BarcelonaTech (UPC)<\/strong>&nbsp;was received by the rector,&nbsp;<a target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.upc.edu\/ca\/la-upc\/govern-i-representacio\/rector\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Daniel Crespo<\/a>. In its half a century of existence, the UPC \u2014the university of architecture, sciences, engineering and technology \u2014 has become one of the leading public higher education institutions in Catalonia and in the world, and an important driver of technology in the industrial sector. This year, it celebrates its fiftieth anniversary,&nbsp;with a programme of events and activities.<br><br>The&nbsp;<strong> Salv\u00e0 i Campillo Outstanding Individual Award <\/strong>\u2014&nbsp; recognising the person or entities that has contributed most notably to boosting or disseminating electronics, ICTs or the audiovisual sector \u2014 was given to <a target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/futur.upc.edu\/NuriaCastellArino\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">N\u00faria Castell<\/a>, from the UPC Department of Computer Science&nbsp;and teacher in the <a target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.fib.upc.edu\/ca\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Barcelona School of Informatics (FIB)<\/a>. Castell was one of the first women to graduate in Computer Sciences in Catalonia and Spain. In March 1986 she was appointed coordinator of the first degree course and was the first woman in a management position at the FIB, which she directed from 2010 to 2017.
