{"id":13724,"date":"2021-07-02T10:43:00","date_gmt":"2021-07-02T10:43:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cit.upc.edu\/?p=13724"},"modified":"2024-11-25T08:38:15","modified_gmt":"2024-11-25T08:38:15","slug":"mwc-2021-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cit.upc.edu\/en\/mwc-2021-2\/","title":{"rendered":"UPC at MWC Barcelona 2021"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-text-align-right\">2\/7\/2021<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Through CIT UPC, UPC presented <strong>some of the most outstanding technologies developed in its research centres and groups at MWC Barcelona 2021<\/strong>, which was held this year from 28 June to 1 July in the Gran Via venue of the Fira de Barcelona.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cit.upc.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/MWC-Barceona-21-1024x682.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-12521\" width=\"666\" height=\"442\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cit.upc.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/MWC-Barceona-21-300x200.png 300w, https:\/\/cit.upc.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/MWC-Barceona-21-768x511.png 768w, https:\/\/cit.upc.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/MWC-Barceona-21-219x146.png 219w, https:\/\/cit.upc.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/MWC-Barceona-21-50x33.png 50w, https:\/\/cit.upc.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/MWC-Barceona-21-113x75.png 113w, https:\/\/cit.upc.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/MWC-Barceona-21.png 1056w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width:767px) 480px, 666px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>CIT UPC presented a portfolio of technological capacities and avant-garde projects, included in the catalogue <a target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/cit.upc.edu\/mobile_projects\/ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">UPC in Tech<\/a>, in the areas of smart connectivity, connectivity applied to mobility and industry, 5G, artificial intelligence, safety and privacy or the society of the future, among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>During the fair, <\/strong><a target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/cit.upc.edu\/ca\/portfolio-item\/nicva\/\">a new medical device for rapid assessment of the cardiovascular system (NICVA)<\/a><strong> <\/strong>was exhibited that had been developed by the Instrumentation, Sensors and Interfaces Group (ISI). In addition, the Data Management (DAMA UPC) group presented <a target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sparsity-technologies.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Sparksee Mobile<\/a> technology; the first high-performance graph management system for embedded and mobile environments, which predicts the interaction of drivers and vehicles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The UPC was also at 4YFN, where it presented 11\u00a0start-ups that have come out of the university and raised the visibility of two singular initiatives. One is <a target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/carnetbarcelona.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">CARNET<\/a>, the research and innovation hub coordinated by the CIT UPC, of which the <a target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.eiturbanmobility.eu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">EIT Urban Mobility Accelerator Programme<\/a> was presented in coordination with the other project partners. This activity is aimed at accelerating <em>start-ups<\/em>\u00a0focused on searching for solutions in the area of urban mobility, through <em>workshops<\/em>, mentoring and attendance of events, as well as direct funding of projects.
