Perturban la cadena de clasificaci\u00f3n y reciclado del PET transparente y la mayor parte se incinera, por lo que actualmente tambi\u00e9n constituye un desaf\u00edo para el medio ambiente. El objetivo de RevalPET\u2019UP es poder llegar a reciclar el 100% del PET opaco, y para ello, es necesario estabilizar y mejorar la calidad del material base tras el reciclaje. A esta conclusi\u00f3n se lleg\u00f3 en el proyecto REVALPET, anterior a RevalPET\u2019UP. Este \u00faltimo surge con el objetivo de dar respuestas a estos retos mediante el proceso de extrusi\u00f3n reactiva.\r<br>El PET opaco reciclado mejorado por extrusi\u00f3n reactiva se transformar\u00e1 de dos maneras. En primer lugar, mezclado con otros materiales como el polipropileno reciclado o aditivos especiales (ign\u00edfugos, cargas conductoras), al que se le podr\u00e1 dotar de propiedades funcionales para aplicaciones especializadas y sostenibles con alto valor a\u00f1adido, y utilizarlo para aplicaciones que requieran buenas prestaciones mec\u00e1nicas. En segundo lugar, se trabajar\u00e1 sobre su uso en forma de espumas de estructura microcelular controlada para la elaboraci\u00f3n de piezas que cumplan con los principios de dise\u00f1o ecol\u00f3gico (estructuras ligeras) y que tengan propiedades de aislamiento t\u00e9rmico suficientemente elevadas para ser utilizadas en la construcci\u00f3n y otras aplicaciones en el \u00e1mbito de la decoraci\u00f3n.<br>Main Text<br>no-repeat;left top;;<br>auto<br><br><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cit.upc.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/PET-OPAC-e1644591510588.png\" alt=\"PET OPAC\" \/><br>full<br>center<br><br>En este contexto, el grupo ePLASCOM-UPC trabajar\u00e1 en el desarrollo de t\u00e9cnicas de extrusi\u00f3n reactiva para el PET opaco reciclado utilizando extensores de cadenas y\/o ramificadores tanto a escala de laboratorio y como a escala de f\u00e1brica piloto, y en la caracterizaci\u00f3n de su comportamiento mec\u00e1nico y de fractura. Por otra parte, se encargar\u00e1 de la producci\u00f3n y caracterizaci\u00f3n mec\u00e1nica de las piezas microespumadas mediante el proceso MUCELL\u00ae.\r<br>RevalPET\u2019UP desarrollar\u00e1 estos materiales hasta la producci\u00f3n a escala piloto, la realizaci\u00f3n de prototipos (escala preindustrial) para la medici\u00f3n de las prestaciones de aislamiento, y se estudiar\u00e1 el potencial comercial de los materiales desarrollados.\r<br>El proyecto ha sido cofinanciado por el Fondo Europeo de Desarrollo Regional (FEDER) a trav\u00e9s del Programa Interreg V-A Espa\u00f1a-Francia-Andorra (POCTEFA 2014-2020), est\u00e1 dotado de un presupuesto de 180.000 euros. Se ha iniciado en enero de 2020 y finalizar\u00e1 en mayo de 2022.
