Braun, la detecci\u00f3n, el bloqueo y la eliminaci\u00f3n del virus SARS-CoV-2 mediante nanopart\u00edculas funcionalizadas y activaci\u00f3n de nanofuentes de calor. Para llevar a cabo la investigaci\u00f3n, se har\u00e1 uso del supercomputador Joliot-Curie instalado al CEA (Commissariat \u00e0 l\\&#8217;Energie Atomique) de Par\u00eds (en Francia).<\/p>\n<p>El grupo de investigaci\u00f3n <a target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/futur.upc.edu\/IMEM-BRT\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Innovation in Materials and Molecular Engineering &#8211; Biomateriales for Regenerative Therapies<\/a> (IMEM-BRT) de la Universitat Polit\u00e8cnica de Catalunya &#8211; BarcelonaTech (UPC) llevar\u00e1 a cabo el Estudio computacional para el desarrollo de plataformas de detecci\u00f3n hiperespectrales del SARS-CoV-2\\&#8217;, que ser\u00e1 liderado por el investigador Joan Torras, del grupo IMEM, con la colaboraci\u00f3n de Oscar Bertran, del mismo grupo. Para llevar a cabo el estudio, la asociaci\u00f3n Partnership for Advanced Computing in Europe (PRACE), que tiene como misi\u00f3n facilitar descubrimientos cient\u00edficos de alto impacto en todas las disciplinas por el beneficio de la sociedad y mejorar la competitividad europea, ha concedido al grupo de la UPC 40 millones de horas del supercomputador Joliot-Curie instalado en CEA de Par\u00eds, el equivalente a 4.500 a\u00f1os en horas de c\u00e1lculo con ordenadores normales.<\/p>\n<p>Durante 6 meses de computaci\u00f3n se llevar\u00e1n a cabo simulaciones sobre los mecanismos de reconocimiento molecular y se estudiar\u00e1n sus aplicaciones para desactivar el virus. Se profundizar\u00e1 en el efecto de las nanopart\u00edculas funcionalizadas sobre la estructura molecular del SARS-CoV-2. En particular, se determinar\u00e1 la influencia del incremento de temperatura local conseguido mediante la activaci\u00f3n de nanofuentes de calor. La energ\u00eda se transfiere cuando las nanopart\u00edculas son iluminadas con luz de una determinada longitud de onda y se calientan gracias al efecto de resonancia de plasm\u00f3n superficial, con el objetivo de desactivar el virus mediante el calor irradiado.<\/p>\n<p>La investigaci\u00f3n se enmarca en el proyecto contra la COVID-19 impulsado por B.
