Last week marked the 20th anniversary of the UPC Programa Innova, a pioneering programme in Catalonia and Spain focused on promoting the culture of innovation and an enterprising spirit among the university community. To date, the initiative has resulted in the creation of over 300 companies that have generated 4,500 jobs, over 500 patent applications, and over 200 licensed technologies derived from research.
