The Centre for Sensors, Instruments and Systems Development (CD6 UPC) is participating as a partner in the European project ACTPHAST4.0 (ACceleraTing PHotonics innovAtion for SME’s: a one STop-shop-incubator), which incorporates leading European research and development centres in the field of optics and photonics.
ACTPHAST4.0 is operating an open call for all European companies (large and small, although it is particularly focused on SMEs), to support them in innovation processes that have an impact on a wide range of industrial sectors. The main areas of application are, among others, advanced production (industry 4.0), the automobile industry, the aerospace industry, energy and the environment, life sciences and health, safety, metrology and sensors, and displays.
How can companies access it?
The access to technology experts and partners available to ACTPHAST4.0 is organised through proposals presented by companies for innovation projects to be carried out in relatively short periods of time (between 6 and 9 months).
ACTPHAST4.0 contributes to reducing the risk associated with innovation projects due to its own financing instrument. The financial support is based on funding tasks that ACTPHAST4.0 partners carry out for companies. The projects are organised into two phases: a first phase of feasibility studies or the conceptual design that could be subsidized up to €30,000 at 100%, and a second phase in which the subsidy is at 75%. From the moment of large-scale production, the subsidy is 50% of all project costs. In the case of the UPC, the relation between the company and the ACTPHAST4.0 partner is organized through a standard R+D contract.
In addition, the technological support provided by ACTPHAST4.0 is complemented by experts in the area of business and finances to help innovation activities to have a clear market focus.
Important: ACTPHAST4.0 is accepting new proposals until the end of November 2021
