Representatives from the CIT UPC European Projects Office took part in the 4th BESTPRAC Thematic Group Event: “Bridging the Gap: Project Managers and Research Support Teams in Action”, held in Barcelona on 28–29 October 2025.
Organised by the European Association of Research Managers and Administrators (EARMA), the event gathered project managers, administrators, and finance experts from across Europe to exchange best practices, share experiences, and strengthen collaboration between research support teams and project management professionals.
Over two days, participants attended keynote sessions, thematic discussions, and interactive workshops on topics such as financial management of EU projects, emotional wellbeing in research administration, and strategies for enhancing cooperation between research offices.
During the conference the UPC Technology Center, CIT UPC, showcased its approach to bridging the innovation gap through participation in collaborative European projects. In their presentation, Esther Parra and Radivoj Malić, shared insights and lessons learned from other European projects such as Science2Society, INDUSAC, EU.FFICIENT, MERIT, and HybridNeuro—highlighting how these initiatives help connect academic research with societal and industrial innovation needs.
“Participating in BESTPRAC was a great opportunity to connect with fellow Research Managers, discuss shared challenges, and present how our work at CIT UPC contributes to bridging the gap between academia and innovation”, shared Radivoj Malić.
The event took place at the Barcelona Biomedical Research Park (PRBB) and featured contributions from experts across Europe, including the EARMA Impact Community, who shared best practices in project management, administration, and research support.
CIT UPC extends its congratulations to the organisers and participants for making the event a valuable platform for knowledge exchange and collaboration.
