The 2024 Call for Industrial Doctorates Plan, promoted by the Government of Catalonia’s Department of Research and Universities, has been launched with a budget of nearly 6 million euros (€5,782,800). The Industrial Doctorates Plan offers predoctoral researchers the opportunity to conduct research training in a company or institution, in collaboration with a university or research centre, where they can develop a project that will eventually become the subject of their doctoral thesis.
The objectives of the call lead on from those established in the previous edition, including increasing the international visibility of the programme. For this reason, a financial incentive for beneficiary entities that promote the international doctorate mention is maintained. This year, efforts are being made to promote projects in the fields of social sciences, arts and humanities, and to incentivise projects by departments and entities in the public sector. Additionally, the aim is to increase the participation of companies and institutions and to establish bonds with business organisations to foster strategic alliances. This will strengthen the ecosystem of industrial innovation and research in Catalonia.
