On 15 July, the first online conference of the Open Innovation Forum, third edition, was held with the participation of the UPC through the CIT UPC Technology Centre. The meeting was attended by over 250 participants more than 70 meetings were held.
The Open Innovation Forum (OIF) is an open innovation programme that runs throughout the year and is organised into six knowledge areas: health and life sciences, food, chemistry, energy and resources, industrial systems and mobility. The programme enables companies to explain their innovation challenges and obtain proposals of solutions from research groups and centres. The conference is open to any company with a need for innovation, the development of new products or services, or with an interest in exploring new innovation opportunities; and university research groups and technology centres with technologies that can be applied to market needs.
A second conference is planned for the end of the year. The format and date still have to be decided.
The OIF is organised by Biocat, the Bosch i Gimpera Foundation, UPF Ventures, the UAB Research Park, CIT UPC, IDIBELL and ACCIÓ. Other collaborators are ICMAB, the University of Girona, the Rovira i Virgili University, XaRTA, XRB, Beauty Cluster Barcelona, CataloniaBio & HealthTech, FemCat, VHIR and PIMEC.
