  • MultiDEPART
    MultiDEPART: A project to facilitate the deployment of transport services on demand
    Researchers from Barcelona Innovative Transportation (BIT) and from inLab FIB of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya - BarcelonaTech (UPC) have worked on MultiDEPART. In the framework of this project, three key tools have been developed for the planning and management of urban mobility, which will help public transport authorities and their operators to adopt and scale transport services on demand (Demand Responsive Transit, DRT) in their areas.

    The main aim of BlockBatCE is to develop a comprehensive solution for the design and management of smart energy communities that promote the connectivity of the equipment that comprises the energy hub (solar panels, energy storage batteries, distribution system and monitoring devices), to optimise the system in terms of efficiency, cost and sustainability.
  • PROTECT: Manufacture of fabrics and antimicrobial devices with ultrasound at industrial scale
    Every year, over four million patients acquire an infection associated with a hospital stay, according to the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control and the World Health Organisation. The data indicate that the impact of these infections has led to direct or indirect mortality of 137,000 patients and a cost of seven billion euros annually.

  • New materials to improve the useful life of pipes for collecting urban solid waste
    The research groups Center for Structural Integrity, Micromechanics and Reliability of Materials (CIEFMA), Eco-Friendly Plastics and Composites (e-PLASCOM) and Innovation in Materials and Molecular Engineering (IMEM) of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) – specialists in the structure and properties of steels and metal alloys in general, the properties and transformation of plastics, and protection against corrosion, respectively – collaborate with the company URD (Urban Refuse Development) in the project Automatic Waste Collection (AWC).
  • Proyecto_INDUSAC_CIT_UPC

    Representatives of CIT UPC took part in the kick-off meeting in Brussels of the INDUSAC project in September. This project was born out of the multidisciplinary, intersectoral association of nine partners from companies and universities in Europe.
