CIT UPC takes part in the 2nd General Assembly of DISCOVER in Lisbon

As a member of the DISCOVER consortium, the UPC Technology Center (CIT UPC) participated in the 2nd General Assembly meeting of the EU-funded DISCOVER project, held in Lisbon, Portugal, on 7 and 8 July 2026. The meeting, hosted by Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), brought together representatives from all 14 partner organisations to review the progress achieved over the past year, discuss ongoing technical developments and coordinate the next steps towards transforming the deconstruction and construction industry through innovative digital technologies.

The UPC showcases urban innovation at the Smart City Expo World Congress and the Barcelona Deep Tech Summit

Once again, the UPC has taken part in the Smart City Expo World Congress (SCEWC25), held from 4 to 6 November in Barcelona, with several live demonstrations and presentations showcasing technology in areas such as energy and environment, infrastructures and smart building, mobility, inclusion, and advanced digital solutions. As part of the congress, the UPC has also participated in parallel sessions and round tables, and the Barcelona Deep Tech Summit, where companies from the University’s entrepreneurial ecosystem (18 spin-offs and start-ups) have presented their latest innovations.

UPC Technology at Foro Transfiere 2025

The Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya - BarcelonaTech (UPC), through the Centre for Innovation and Technology of UPC (CIT UPC), had a stand at Foro Transfiere 2025, from March 12 to 14 at the Palau de Fires i Congressos de Málaga (FYCMA). This event brought together professionals and experts from the R&D+i field to promote the transfer of knowledge and collaboration between universities and businesses.

The UPC and the Medical Emergency System of Catalonia will develop a drone management platform

The UPC and the Medical Emergencies System (SEM) signed a collaboration agreement on 12 March to develop a technological platform that will help coordinate drone operations within Catalonia's airspace. The agreement also includes other joint research and technological innovation projects in the field of medical emergencies.

The UPC, present in Equiplast

The Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya · BarcelonaTech (UPC), through the UPC Technology Center (CIT UPC), will participate in the 2023 edition of Equiplast, the International Plastics and Rubber Event. The event takes place from 30 May to 2 June at the Gran Via venue of the Fira de Barcelona. The UPC will be on the stand of the Advanced Materials Cluster of Catalonia (MAV).
