The UPC Technology Center (CIT UPC) and CIM UPC organizes on Tuesday, April 26, from 9:45 a.m. to 1 p.m., the conference Advanced materials for construction. During the morning, sustainable solutions for the transformation challenges of this sector will be discussed.
Construction is evolving towards new building technologies and new materials, both to comply with regulatory directives and to increase its competitiveness in the market.
In this sense, it is necessary to coordinate global solutions that take into account the available options for a more sustainable building, with less impact on the environment and that, in a real way, allows the progress towards circular economy.

Xavier Roca, director of The School of Industrial, Aerospace and Audiovisual Engineering of Terrassa (ESEIAAT UPC), will be in charge of welcoming the event. Next, six projects will be presented with a focus on:
- 3D printing technology applied to construction
- The use of recycled materials for concrete's functionalization
- The use of recycled raw material for the manufacture of cement
