The Fractus-UPC Deep Tech Hub model exemplifies how a long-term strategic collaboration between Fractus and the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya - BarcelonaTech (UPC) can generate impact across the business ecosystem, talent development and technological innovation.

The Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya - BarcelonaTech (UPC), through UPC Technology Center, CIT UPC, is taking part in the 2026 edition of Equiplast (Equiplast26), the International Plastics and Rubber Event, which will take place from 2 to 5 June at the Gran Via venue of Fira Barcelona, within the Clúster MAV’s stand.

The UPC Technology Center, CIT UPC, has been present, as an associate member of the Spanish Federation of Technology Centres (Fedit), at the presentation of the study “Value and economic impact of Fedit Technology Centres”, within the framework of the commemorative event marking the Federation’s 30th Anniversary, which took place on 29 April in Madrid.

On 8 April, UPC unveiled 6G LabNet UPC, an autonomous experimental network designed to test and validate next-generation mobile communications technologies and services in real-world environments. Serving research, teaching, public administration and industry, the infrastructure is a state-of-the-art scientific facility in Europe and will play a key role in accelerating innovation in AI-enabled 6G technology.

Representatives from the UPC Technology Center actively participated in the DIZ 4.0 Conference – “Artificial Intelligence. Human Perspective”, held on 26th March in Iași, Romania. This event was organised by the Digital Innovation Zone (DIZ) and the European Digital Innovation Hubs Network (EDIH). The conference brought together key stakeholders from across Europe, including Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIHs), Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), technology providers, and public authorities to discuss strategic collaboration in digital innovation.

Once again, UPC has been present at MWC Barcelona, from 2 to 5 March. Through CIT UPC, its stand showcased its technological capabilities in areas such as artificial intelligence, 6G, data spaces, digital health, smart mobility and sustainability, as well as a selection of advanced projects and solutions, with prototypes and live demonstrations developed by the University’s research teams.

The Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya - BarcelonaTech (UPC), through the UPC Innovation and Technology Centre (CIT UPC), will have an exhibition space at the stand of the Generalitat de Catalunya, in the Catalonia pavilion, at MWC Barcelona 2026, which this year will take place from 2 to 5 March at Fira Barcelona (Gran Via).
