Once again, the UPC Technology Center, CIT UPC, has showcased UPC technology at Foro Transfiere 2026, which this year took place from 24 to 26 February at the Málaga Trade Fair and Congress Centre (FYCMA). This event brings together professionals and experts from the R&D&I field to foster knowledge transfer and university-business collaboration.
📍 Booth C5 located in the shared pavilion of Fedit (Spanish Federation of Technology Centres).
In its fifteenth edition, CIT UPC took part in networking activities with companies and organisations, offering technological capabilities across the different areas in which UPC has expertise, as well as a selection of outstanding projects developed at UPC.
The projects showcased at Foro Transfiere 2026 include:
- DigiPatICS: AI to improve cancer diagnosis and share results
- BIO-4D: 4D printing of biodegradable polymeric stents with shape memory for congenital malformations of the aorta artery
- PREPARE: AI for a proactive response and more efficient planning in hospital emergencies
- HYDROHEAL: Improving the treatment of bone fractures with advanced biomaterials
- TRIFFID: An autonomous robotic support system to increase the efficiency of emergency teams

- CIRC-BOOST: Circular solutions in the construction sector
- UPCxels: Open and multi-sector data space to create value from information
- MERIT: An international educational ecosystem aimed at closing the digital skills gap in Europe

The Center for Industrial Diagnostics (CDIF) at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya - BarcelonaTech (UPC) coordinates the European STOR-HY project, which develops digital tools, monitoring systems and advanced models to optimise the operation of pumped-storage hydropower plants and reduce their investment and maintenance costs.- The Advanced Network Architectures Lab (CRAAX) at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya - BarcelonaTech (UPC) is participating in the ACCOMPLISH project, which is developing an innovative AI-based compliance and certification framework to simplify, integrate and automate compliance in operations, assets, solutions and organisational processes related to data and artificial intelligence.
- A team from the Resources Recovery and Environmental Management (R2EM) group, of the Barcelona Research Center in Multiscale Science and Engineering (CCEM), at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya - BarcelonaTech (UPC), is participating in the MagNa project, which is developing an innovative system to recover magnesium from the brines generated by the seawater desalination process. The recovered materials will be used for industrial purposes and will help reduce Europe’s trade dependence.
